New Catalog And Class Previews

Can you believe that we’re starting a new year and new catalog in just a couple of days? We have two open houses to help ring in the new year and catalog.

Sunday, January 6: We're having an open house at Ten Seconds Studio from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Come see some of our upcoming class projects and samples from the Spring-Summer Collection 2008.

Stay afterward for a free make-n-take. We'll be making this triangle card using Stampin' Up's! new Bali Breeze paper. The picture shows the open book and one that is closed in the lower left corner.

Kits are limited so please e-mail me to reserve your kit for this make-n-take.

Saturday, January 19: Our second open house will be at Central Christian Church at 3205 Hamilton, Ft. Worth, 76107 from 2-4 p.m. As our way of saying "THANK YOU!" to our loyal hostesses and customers, we have planned a fun, free afternoon of stamping filled with all sorts of goodies and door prizes.
There is a special time reserved from 1 - 2 p.m. for past hostesses only. We have some special surprises for our stamp club members and past hostesses. If you have hostessed a workshop for me in the past, you won't want to miss this special time.
Please be sure to register for both events so we have enough supplies for everyone.

The retiring stamp list is now available online.

Check out this link to get the complete list of stamp sets that will be retiring at the end of this year.
http://www.stampinup.com/us/enu/9276.asp

I'm mourning over the upcoming loss of some of my favorite snowman stamp sets. Frosty, Flaky Friends and Holiday Tag Team are all retiring! I've used these stamp sets for many different projects over the years. Of course, my long-time customers are probbly ready for something new. If you like snowmen, any of these three sets are extremely vesatile.
If there are any stamp sets on the retiring list that you would like to order before the end of December, please e-mail me at cheng1170@sbcglobal.net. Stampin Up! stamps often go up in prices once they are no longer available through the catalog.

Christmas Card Workshop

Our Christmas Card workshop last Saturday was a lot of fun. Here is one of the cards that we made. The little snowman comes from Flaky Friends. Using our different circle punches helped us make this card more quickly than you might expect. Happy Stamping!

Tuesday, October 2, 2007

I had a lot of fun teaching this card last week to a group known as the Dallas Area Fiber Artists. Many of the participants learned the techniques and made many different variations. This card uses a technique known as emerging color and starts with glossy white paper. I enjoyed brayering on the many colors which is why the card has so many colors in it.

If you are interested in learning this technique, I will be teaching this card on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in North Richland Hills. Please contact me for more details.

Little Helpers

We had a lot of fun at the Birthday Calendar Book class. I was wondering how it would work out to teach two different versions of the book at the same time. Thanks to my talented customers, everything went smoothly.

The highlight of the class, however, was our visitors. Dede came by with her twins, Brooke and Presley. We decided to let Brooke and Presley select our door prize winners. Both girls were great at building up the suspense. They would touch the different pieces of paper, but wouldn't pick them up until they had everyone's attention. Finally Presley put us out of our misery and picked our lucky winners! Congratulations to our door prize winners, Stacey, Victoria and Micah. And many thanks to Cheryl and Megan for letting me teach the class at Ten Seconds Studio.

Happy Stamping!

Birthday Books

Here is a birthday book that I designed for a birthday party. The book looks like a hardbound book with a page for each month of the year. Each month has a pocket where you can keep your cards until it is time to mail them.

The original book is the one with the Western theme. I designed the second book using the Baroque theme. I'm teaching this class on Sunday, Sept. 16, from 1-5pm in North Richland Hills for $40.

The Recipe book and Birthday books are also available as classes on the Go. Classes on the Go are ones that you can schedule at a time that works for you and at least 5 of your friends. This makes a fun craft day, birthday party or girls day out.

If you are interested in taking a class or scheduling a Class on the Go, please email me.
