Sneak Peeks from Our New Catalog

Our May demonstrator swap challenge was to remake a card using products available in Stampin' Up!'s new catalog.  I made this card using the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper (130814  $10.95).  The sentiment is from Lacy & Lovely (122887  $17.95) and the butterfly is from Serene Silhouettes (127324  $17.95).

This is the Stampin' Up! demonstrator swap card that inspired the remake. It was made using several retiring products including the Just Believe stamp set (120453 $25.95) and the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper (126898 $10.95).

Laurel Erb made this stunning card using the Big Shot Lattice Bigz Die (115958  $21.95).  The paper behind the Lattice is Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper (129310  $10.95).  Layering the Bitty Butterfly Punch (129406  $15.95) and the Elegant Butterfly Punch (127526  $15.95) is a quick way to make a colorful embellishment.

Cindy Peterson made this card using Stampin' Up!'s new Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper (129310  $10.95) and  the Really Good Greetings stamp set (130333  $$14.95).  See the Melon Mambo flower embellishment?  Cindy made that with Stampin' Up!'s Simply Pressed Clay (130685  $6.95) and Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds (131272  $7.95).

Marilyn Young made this card using the Open Sea stamp set (123032  $18.95).  It's a great card that can be used for men or women.  The accent using linen thread and one of the pins from Vintage Trinkets (118764  $5.95) is just the right touch for this card.

I've posted these swap cards and more on My Facebook Page.

My Paper Pumpkin for Your Quick Crafting Getaways!

My Paper Pumpkin is a quick crafting getaway for anyone who leads a busy life and is looking for creative fun with little time to prep and collect the needed materials.  When you join My Paper Pumpkin, every month a box will arrive at your home with everything you need to make the project(s) inside except for adhesive.

This card was the April project.  Everything you needed to make 4 cards was in the box.  After you make your cards, you'll still have the stamp set and Stampin' Spot to use for your own personal projects.  One of my favorite things about the kits is the card stock.  See the Midnight Muse card base?  Inside, the card stock is white.  I wish this type of card stock was available in Stampin' Up!'s catalog!

No matter when you join, you'll get this welcome kit the first month.  That's because it includes the clear block that you'll need for your clear mount stamps that come with the rest of the monthly kits.  Join by the 10th of the month to get your My Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail!  When you use the links in this post, you'll automatically be registered as one of my customers.  Otherwise, please remember to choose Sharon Cheng as your demonstrator.

What do you think will be in next month's kit?

OWH Virtual Card Marking Party on National Scrapbook Day

I made this Patriotic Miss You Card for Operation Write Home's Virtual Card Making Party this weekend during National Scrapbook Day.  They had multiple challenges and this card is for Challenge #1.  The challenge was to make a Missing You card and I was in the mood to make this one in red, white and blue.

OWH's Sketch #50 was the inspiration for this card.  Because I wanted to use the bird on the mailbox image, I looked through OWH's card sketches until I found this one.  The OWH card sketches are easy to use because they have the dimensions for each piece.  While you can change them to fit your card, it's nice to have a place to start.

Stampin' Up!'s For the Birds stamp set
(126407  $24.95) was perfect for making this Missing You card.  I love all of the images in this stamp set.

Here is another card that I made using the For the Birds Stamp set.  I cut the sentiment apart from the image so that I would have room to add the ribbon.

Operation Write Home is a great way to get your creativity flowing while making cards for our heroes overseas.  Our heroes are giving their best for our country and deserve the best handmade cards to send to their loved ones.
