Swapping Stampin' Up! Style: Thank You Cards

Can you believe the wonderful variety of cards I received at Stampin' Up!'s Convention 2014?  The Work of Art stamp continues to be one of the most popular and versatile stamp sets in the new catalog.  Shirley Griffith made this card using three of the newest In Colors:  Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss.

Nichole Smith made this card using the same sentiment from the Another Thank You stamp set.

Cherie Hunt made this thank you card using the sentiment from Four You and the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack.

Rosemarrie Gonzalez made her card using the Hello There hostess stamp set and the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack.

This card by Katrin Lord uses the I Like You hostess stamp set.

Here is the Work of Art stamp set again in a patriotic-themed thank you card by Suzy Hatfield.

This card by Vicki Bell using the Work of Art stamp is one of the fastest cards you will ever make.  You pick a dark color, ink up the stamp once, stamp and then continue stamping down the card front without re-inking.  You'll get a quick and easy ombre look using only one color!  Vicki is in my downline and this quick and easy card was inspired by one that we made at our demonstrator retreat.

Swapping Stampin' Up! Style: Birthday Cards

Today I’m sharing the birthday cards I received while swapping with other independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators at #InspireCreateShare2014. You can see other swaps and convention highlights in all of my posts this week.

Cathy Bartlett used the Big News stamp set and Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper to make this bold and bright birthday card. I like the way she used four different papers as her background. You’ll see other versions of this technique with some of the other swaps I received.

Amanda Cardera used the same Big News stamp set for her birthday card.  It looks so different with the change in color and layout.  Notice how she used the silver glimmer paper to highlight the sentiment?  And the WooHoo! flag at the bottom is adorable.  She gets kudos for fussy cutting for a swap.  Here is my IAM (In A Minute) video on fussy cutting.

Sue Stromquist did a wonderful job combining the Star Framelits and star punch to make this striking card.

Unfortunately, this card that uses Amazing Birthday doesn't have a label on it.  If you happen to know who made this card, please contact me so I can give them credit.

Janace Charbonneau made this card using the Flower Patch stamp set and coordinating framelits.  I love her color choices and the use of Basic Gray as the background.  The Lovely Lace textured embossing folder gives a wonderful subtle touch to the card.

Kate Liechty used Smoky Slate and Basic Gray for her background with this card that features the Perfect Pennants stamp set.  The combination of grays really makes the other colors pop.

And last but not least is this birthday card by Karen Duke featuring the Life in the Forest stamp set.  So cute and cheery.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the wonderful swaps that I received at Stampin' Up!'s convention 2014. Stay tuned for still more swap cards in the next several days.

Swapping Stampin' Up! Style

One of my favorite things to do at a Stampin' Up! event is swap cards.  Here are a few pictures of what it looks like.  Stampin' Up! demonstrators carry cards to exchange with other demonstrators and at places like convention, you'll see these swap-portunities show up everywhere.  I've swapped at the airport, on the plane, on the bus, and naturally at the Salt Lake Palace convention center.  You make many samples of the same card and then trade them.  It's a wonderful way to greet friends, meet new friends and have a wide variety of cards to share when you get back home.

I came home with many wonderful swaps.  Here is the first of many posts with some of my swap cards.  Debbie Adelt made this stunning card using the Wetlands stamp set.  She used watercolor paper and spritzed the paper to give it that watercolor look.  This was the swap that almost didn't happen.  Janet Holmes came up to be and asked if I had any swap cards left.  I answered yes and gave her one.  Off she went and brought back this card.  She had passed by the woman swapping this card and knew that I would love the card, so thank you Janet and Debbie!

Carolyn Rice made this punch art camera which can be a card or an embellishment.  She used the File Tab edgelit to make the top of the camera and circle punches for the lens.  Notice how she used the argyle embossing folder to add texture to the black?  The smallest ticket from the Ticket Duo punch is the button on the camera.  What a great imagination Carolyn has to design this swap card!

Leslie Mahon made this card with the fabulous background using the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder and inks to show off the details.  The color coordination is gorgeous!

I'll continue to share my convention swaps and details when I have them in the upcoming days.  Starting with my Sunday 7/27/2014 post are more of the inspiring and creative ideas that I would like to share from #InspireCreateShare2014.

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek Halloween

In addition to Christmas, Stampin' Up!'s Holiday catalog also has what you need for Halloween, Fall and Thanksgiving decorating and gift giving.  All this week I'm sharing memories from Inspire, Create, Share 2014, Stampin' Up!'s convention.

After a product is demonstrated in a general session, there is often a Prize Patrol right after where many lucky demonstrators will get what was just demonstrated.  Sara Douglas, Shelli's daughter, demonstrated different ways to use several of the kits in the Holiday catalog.  Cindy Peterson won the Frightful Wreath Simply Created Kit after Sara's presentation.  She looks like a happy winner!

This is the variation that Sara did with the kit.  She used the leftovers to make cards and treat bags.

You can buy items from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday catalog starting August 28.  Are you in the US and would you like a copy of the catalog?  Contact me today to get your free Holiday catalog!

More Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks

Here are more Holiday catalog sneak peeks from Inspire, Create, Share 2014, Stampin' Up!'s convention.  This time I'm sharing different packaging ideas that were on the display boards.  The first package uses the Santa Stache stamp set and the Mustache framelit (133741  $7.95).

This Christmas tree tag uses The Festival of Trees stamp set and the coordinating tree punch.  These two items will be available as a bundle for 15% off!

Another must have on my wish list is the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies that was used to make this box.  The finished box measures 2 1/2" x 2 3/4" x 2 1/2".  It was made using the Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This paper is cardstock weight to make a sturdier box.

Stampin' Up! is also introducing a Gift Box Punch Board!  That is how they made these boxes.  With the Gift Box Punch Board, it will be easy peasy to make boxes up to 4" on each side.

The Nature's Peace stamp set was used to make this striking gift bag from a brown paper sack!  The same stamp set can be used to make coordinating tags and cards.

Can't wait until August 28 to buy your Christmas stamp sets?  Beauty of the Season is available through July 31st!

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks

Stampin' Up!'s Inspire Create Share 2014 was wonderful as always.  The convention was well paced and we had time for learning, being with friends, swapping and getting a sneak peek at the Holiday catalog!  This was the first year where we could buy some of the items from the Holiday catalog at convention.  Needless to say, with the free product we get at convention, gifts, swaps and shopping at the convention store, I came home with more than I started out with.  LOL!

At Inspire Create Share 2014, Stampin' Up! provides all of these display boards with samples of new product.  While I can't share pictures of the new product until it is available, starting August 28, I can show you some of the samples using items from the new Holiday catalog.

This card uses the single stamp, Bearing Gifts.  Notice the small, sparkling stars?  Those come from a new star punch!

This stamp set, White Christmas, is on my wish list.  It's a clear photopolymer stamp set which makes it easier to line up the different images, in this case the Merry Christmas banner between the trees.  And there are those little stars again!

Recognize this stamp set, Endless Wishes?  It sold out in just a few weeks last year.  So glad it's back!

The Newborn King stamp set is a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas!
