New Catalog Stamp Set: Elegant Thank You

I received this card at Leadership from Susan Selfridge. She did a beautiful job making a simple but classic card with the new Elegant Thank You stamp. It looks like she reverse masked the sentiment and sponged it with Baja Breeze. This card showcases how well Stampin' Up! coordinates their inks, paper and ribbon.

New Catalog Stamp Set: Sweet Stems

This swap card was made by Kathy Johnson. She used the new stamp set, Sweet Stems. I love how she used our square scallop punch to accent the watercolored flowers. The sentiment is part of the Heard From the Heart set.

The color combination of Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red is very eye-catching.

Happy stamping,

New Catalog Stamp Set: Just Buzzin' By

This swap card I received features the stamp set, Just Buzzin' By. Carol, the demonstrator who made this card, did a wonderful job watercoloring the bees and flower. And she even cut out the bee bouncing on the flower stem.

Happy stamping,

New Catalog Stamp Set: Game Night

This card came from a swap at Leadership in Orlando. It uses the Jackpot Designer Series Paper, the Game Night stamp set and the Stampin' Up! exclusive Top Note Big Shot Die.

Since its July introduction, Stampin' Up! has sold over 20,000 Big Shot Machines. You can see the Big Shot and more SU exclusive dies in the 2009 Spring-Summer Idea Book and Catalog.

There are many ways to get the new catalog for free. You can hostess a workshop, join one of my stamp clubs or place your first online order in February. Regular cost of the catalog is $9.95.

Come by one of my open houses on January 23rd or 24th to see more samples from the new catalog.

Happy stamping,

A Rose Is A Rose

I loved this card that I received at Leadership in Orlando. It uses the A Rose Is A Rose stamp set. This stamp set is a two step set. The darker details on the roses and leaves come from separate stamps. You stamp the first layer with a lighter color of ink and then the second layer with a darker ink.

Love You Much Bundle 20% Off

Many of you know that I went to Stampin' Up's Leadership Conference in Orlando last week. Whenever you go to a Stampin' Up! event, demonstrators swap cards to share ideas. I'll continue to post some of my favorite swap cards, updates from Leadership and tidbits from the new catalog this month.

Many of the cards I received used items from the current Love You Much Bundle which is currently 20% off. All of the cards in this post use items from the bundle.

The Bundle includes:

Love You Much stamp set $25.95
Candy Lane Designer Series paper (Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla) $9.95
Heart To Heart punch $15.95

Bundle Retail Value $51.85

Love You Much Bundle (20% off; item 115405) $41.48

I loved how the Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon coordinates with the bundle. You can see the ribbon in the Friend to Friend card. The first 5 customers who order this bundle from me will receive one yard of the Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon. The Candy Lane Designer Series Paper has sold out in the past. Tutorial: Upsy Daisy Sunset

The inspiration for this card comes from my sister-in-law, Robin. At Christmas, she came up with the idea of making a sunset background for the daisies. We didn’t have the right inks with us so when I came home, this is what I designed. Try this card, it looks like you spent a lot of time on it when it’s fairly quick. The hardest part is cutting the mask for the label.

Supplies
Stamps
• Upsy Daisy
• Frames with a Flourish
• Gratuitous Graffiti

Paper
• Whisper White card stock 3 ½” x 4 ¾”
• Night of Navy card stock 3 ¾” x 5”
• Tangerine Tango card stock 8 ½” x 5 ½”

Ink
• Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Pad
• Baja Breeze Classic Stampin’ Pad
• Tangerine Tango Classic Stampin’ Pad
• Pink Passion Classic Stampin’ Pad

Stampin’ Up! Accessories
• Stampin’ Sponge
• Night of Navy narrow grosgrain ribbon
• Mini Glue Dots

Instructions
To make the mask: Stamp the frame on a piece of white copy paper. Cut out the frame. Apply Tombo mono multi liquid adhesive lightly across the back. Let dry thoroughly. When the adhesive is dry, it is removable.

On the Whisper White cardstock:
With Pink Passion, stamp the frame.
With Basic Gray, stamp the flowers and sentiment.
Adhere the mask to cover the label

Sponge Baja Breeze as shown on the first sample. Be sure to leave lots of white space.

Sponge Tangerine Tango as shown on the second frame. Leave bits of white space here and there. Sponge lightly where the two colors meet. Avoid overblending which gives a muddy look.

Sponge Pink Passion. Where you have Tangerine Tango, you get a wonderful pinkish orange. Where it blends with Baja Breeze, there is a lovely violet. By the way, I just realized that since I used several different samples for tutorial the colors don't match up from one picture to the next.

Remove the mask. Add the Night of Navy ribbon. Mat with Night of Navy cardstock.

For the card front. Using Pink Passion, stamp Gratuitous Grafitti and sponge the edges. Assemble per the sample.

The Tangerine Tango cardstock is currently on sale with Stampin' Up!

Place an online order with me in January and I'll send you this card in the mail. E-mail me at cheng1170@sbcglobal.net the same day when you place your online order and you can choose from 3 sentiments: Birthday Celebrations (shown on the sample), You're on My Mind, or Thank You for your friendship.
