Joyful Christmas 3D Star Tag

I was inspired to make this Joyful Christmas Star tag with my stamp club, after seeing Barbara Raffman's card,.  I changed up her instructions slightly.  Mostly because I couldn't find my stylus when I was making the sample!  LOL.  Instead of scoring the lines first, I folded the paper along the lines of the star.  I didn't try to fold all the way to the tips.  After folding all the lines, I made sure that the short lines formed valleys and the longer ones formed the mountains.  While it would be helpful to score with heavier card stock, thankfully everything worked out with the Whisper White card stock.  And yes, my stylus re-appeared after finishing this project!  To attach the 3D star to the project, I stacked two Stampin' Dimensionals, attached them to the center back of the folded star and added to the Christmas tag.

The Christmas Star is a single stamp.  I stamped Whisper White card stock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with silver stampin' emboss powder.  While it's called the Christmas Star, can you see using this 3D star in patriotic themes for banners, tags and other projects?  You can see these ideas and more on my Pinterest board.

This tag was a bonus project for my stamp club.  After making the Festive Flurry Tag Bag, I had leftover Winter Frost paper. I came up with this project to use up the scraps.

Festive Flurry Tag Bag Tutorial

Enjoy making this snowflake bag with Stampin' Up!'s Festive Flurry Ornament Kit and by using this Sharing Creativity tutorial for the tag bag.  You can see how I was inspired to make this Festive Flurry Tag Bag in yesterday's post.  When I designed this project, I wanted to make a bag that only used one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock.  It took me a while to figure it out.  Now that I've figured out the template, you'll be seeing this tag bag again!

This tag bag is really a box with a tag attached to each side after the box is made.

First cut a piece of card stock in half.  You'll have 2 pieces that are 8 1/2 x 5 1/2" each. Then cut one of the pieces into two tags that measure 3 1/5 x 5 1/2" each.

Place the half sheet of card stock in Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scored and score at 1/2, 1, 4 1/2 and 5".

Turn the card stock as shown and score at 3 3/4 and 4 3/4. 

Fold along the lines as shown and clip to the second score mark on both sides as shown.

Fold on the second score marks as shown and cut off at the score marks on the other side as shown.  Add Sticky Strip to the small tabs.

Turn the box over and add Sticky Strip as shown.  You are now ready to assemble your box.

I like adhering the two small tabs together first.

Then attach the long tab on each side.  Snip the corners of the remaining two pieces and attach to the box.  Now you are ready to add the Festive Flurry Ornament!

Festive Flurry Tag Bag

This Festive Flurry Tag Bag is made using Stampin' Up!'s Festive Flurry Ornament Kit.  After seeing Janneke's project, I was inspired to make this tag bag using our snowflake kit.  That made this project go quickly (after I figured out how to make the tag bag).  I'll post the tutorial for the tag bag tomorrow.

Here is the Festive Flurry Ornament Kit which comes with everything you need to make 10 snowflakes.  When I opened the kit, I realized that not only does this make the snowflakes quick and easy, it's a great price at $14.95.  Why?  You get a full pack of the large rhinestones and 10 yards of Soft Sky Seam Binding Ribbon.  Those two items cost $11.90!  You'll have lots of rhinestones and ribbon to use on future projects!



The snowflakes are already die cut and pre-scored.  You punch them out, fold along the score lines and attach.  Stampin' Up! also has video instructions.

Sassy Salutations To You!

Stampin' Up! 3D Christmas Party Favors with Free Mini Coffee Cup Template

 My Stampin' Up! demonstrator group swapped 3D Party Favors at our last meeting.  It was like having an early Christmas. Teresa Goff made this mini Christmas coffee cup filled with candy.  Fortunately for several of us, she had bought extra mini espresso cups and sold them to us.

I decided to make this fall version as a gift for a friend.  You'll be seeing more of these mini espresso cups.  You can buy them at webstaurant.com.  The hardest thing about decorating these cups is making the template for the paper to wrap around the cup.  You can get a copy of the template I made for free.  Post one of these cups on Pinterest and email me the link.  I'll send you a copy of the template.

Cindy Peterson made this wonderful snowman tealight.  The eyes and mouth are made with Stampin' Up!'s basic pearls.  To paint them black, she spray painted an entire sheet of pearls.

This candy jar was decorated by Melody Smith.  The jar is filled with candy kisses.  I love how the silver theme is carried throughout the project even down to the candy.

Frameable Happiness Quote

I made this frameable quote using Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio. While I have been collecting quotes for many years, this is the first time I have designed one digitally.  It's something I plan to continue doing.  :)

If you follow my Pinterest boards, you know that I recently created one for my favorite quotes.   It has been fun finding quotes that are meaningful to me.  Today I couldn't find one with an image that fit my mood.  After seeing this quote, I decided it was time to make it frameable myself.

When I was teaching a class yesterday, the subject came up of how some people, while facing some of the most difficult circumstances, still rise above it.  They continue to show their loving nature even while facing difficult, life-changing events. That discussion inspired me to make this frameable quote.
