I wanted to use several of my new toys from Stampin' Up! and this is the card I ended up making. It uses the Manhattan Flower Texturized Impressions Die, Great Friends, Oval All and the Scallop Oval Punch. You can barely see the Walk in the Park Designer Series paper behind the Vellum cardstock.

All About Adhesives

With so many adhesives available, how do you know which ones to choose? It depends. There isn’t one product that works for everything.

Do you prefer a dry or wet adhesive? The advantage of dry adhesives is that they are usually easier to apply without making a mess. The advantage of wet adhesives is that they can be more versatile.

Both the 2 way glue pen and Mono Multi can be used as permanent or removable adhesives. If you attach your items when the glue is still wet, it will be permanent. If you let the glue dry first, it becomes a removable adhesive.

You can make a dry adhesive like SNAIL removable. Put the SNAIL down on your first piece of paper. Then stick it on your clothing multiple times to pick up a little lint. When you attach it to your object, you'll find that it is removable thanks to the lint.

Here's a summary that I created with more information about my favorite uses for different Stampin' Up! adhesives.

*While these products are sold as permanent adhesives, they can be removed carefully with an adhesive remover
**If you attach the paper when the glue is wet, it is permanent. If you wait until the glue dries, before attaching the paper, it is removable.

SU Rocks!!!

I'm currently in Hawaii on Stampin' Up!'s incentive trip that I earned last year. We're at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on Hawaii's Big Island. We're on the Kona side which has a lot of areas covered with black lava. The locals call it Hawaiian graffiti when people use the white coral rocks to "write" on the black lava. Naturally, someone had to put SU's name on the lava rocks at the resort. And by the way, this type of graffiti is legal!

Use It Up Class

Do you have lots of paper scraps? Are your scraps out of control? Then this workshop is for you! You will bring your scraps and Use it Up during this fun workshop! You will be given a list of scraps and items to bring with you along with pictures of the projects. Make one or make as many as you can during the class time. Let's use up all those scraps and create something fun!! Cost is $5 and please RSVP by Friday, March 13th.

The photo shows the 5 projects you can make. Clockwise from the left: Luggage Tag, Magnetic Bookmark, Hinged Card, Treat Holder, Bunny Basket. Any of these projects can be adapted to fit different holidays and occasions.

Tutorial Texturz Card

I've had several people ask for more detailed instructions for making this Texturz card. Here is a slightly different version that I made using the Stampin' Up! exclusive Little Leaves and Birds and Blooms Sizzlit dies.

Supplies
Not Quite Navy cardstock: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 in.
Bashful Blue cardstock: 5 1/2 x 2 1/2 in.
Rose Red cardstock: 5 1/2 x 3 in.
Scrap of Bashful Blue, Rose Red and Certainly Celery at least 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 in.
Stampin' Up Backgrounds Texturz Plates
Stampin' Up Little Leaves Sizzlit die
Stampin' Up Birds and Blooms Sizzlit die
1 inch circle punch
Rose Red Classic Inkpad
Garden Green Classic Inkpad
Not Quite Navy Classic Inkpad
Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel and handle





Creating the textured and inked cardstock is a four step process.

Step 1 is to run the Bashful Blue 5 1/2 by 2 1/2 in. piece and scrap through the Big Shot. Then lightly rub the Rose Red classic inkpad directly across the 2 pieces of textured cardstock. Use a light touch and move the pad in circles when applying the ink.



Step 2 is lightly rubbing the Garden Green classic inkpad in circles across the 2 pieces of Bashful Blue cardstock. Try to not overlap the Rose Red and Garden Green too much as the mixture doesn't make a great color.



Step 3 is adding Not Quite Navy in the same way that you used Rose Red and Garden Green. You can overlap the Not Quite Navy ink with the Rose Red and Garden Green. Be sure to leave the Bashful Blue cardstock showing in a few areas.



Step 4 is sponging Rose Red, Garden Green and Not Quite Navy where you want on the large piece of Bashful Blue cardstock. Again, use a circular motion when sponging the cardstock.

Using Rose Red, stamp "for you" on the scrap piece of inked and textured cardstock. Punch out with a 1" circle punch. Use the Big Shot to die cut the flower from Birds and Blooms in Rose Red and Little Leaves from Certainly Celery cardstock. Wheel Friendly Wheels in Not Quite Navy Ink across the Not Quite Navy cardstock. Assemble per the sample.

Stamp Club Creations

I wanted to share with everyone some of the cards that Stephanie Castro made at Sunday stamp club.

One of the things I enjoy most about stamping is that you can use the same parts and change them up for different looks. You can see my original versions in my gallery.

Did You Know That Spiderman Is A Stampin' Up! Fan?

Many of you know that I went to Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference in Orlando earlier in January. I came home to our hospital's 4-day Joint Commission survey so I'm just now getting caught up on my Stampin' Up! duties.

One of my favorite parts about going to Leadership Conference is the Managers' Reception that is a special evening reserved for Stampin' Up! managers and above. This year we went to Universal Studios Orlando. The Islands of Adventure area was reserved just for us.

What a fun evening. When we arrived, there was a buffet with different tables throughout the area. The rides and arcade were part of the evening's fun. One demonstrator (not me!) had so much fun on the roller coaster, I heard that she went 19 times!

Spiderman's 3D ride was amazing. You felt like you were flying around helping Spiderman fight all of these villians.
